Olive oil: from commodity to cultural icon

At the same time, the rise of alternative vegetable oils like avocado, sesame, or hemp shows how the entire category is evolving and diversifying.

Olive oil brands are exploring organic, sculptural, and expressive forms. Some even become collector’s items thanks to limited editions created in collaboration with artists and designers. At the same time, labels have turned minimalist and elegant: less noise, more focus on essence.

Beyond the Mediterranean, the “liquid gold” is now making its way into markets like the U.S. and Asia. In these regions, where standing out means captivating a curious and demanding consumer, design becomes a decisive factor.
